46% of AI users now talk to AI, but voice modes still frustrate heavy users

A Menlo Ventures report finds 46% of AI users now speak to AI, but the author's experience shows voice modes remain immature:
- Most AI voice modes are noticeably shallower and don't recognize when you're pausing to gather thoughts, leading to constant interruptions.
- His workaround: use voice-to-text inside text mode, since talking is much faster than typing on a phone, while a physical keyboard still wins for typing.
- Nearly everything he posts on X is dictated, then manually corrected.
Takeaway: voice input is growing fast, but voice-to-text plus text mode is currently more practical than real voice conversations.
