Base Labs, the research group spun up by Baseten earlier this year, has launched an open-weight AI safety partnership with Hugging Face and interpretability startup Goodfire.
The initiative will develop and publicly publish methods for training and monitoring open models, aiming to make open-weight AI safer and more verifiable as capabilities grow. It's one of the few multi-party efforts explicitly focused on open-weight model safety.
