Dev puts AI on the night shift to auto-generate, run and publish PowerShell labs
dfinke · x · 2026-09-18
Developer Doug Finke built "PowerShell Idea Lab", a site where AI runs a full experiment loop overnight: it finds ideas online, reframes them as prompts, generates commented PowerShell 7 scripts, executes them in an isolated environment, validates the output, and publishes each lab as an idea → prompt → solution → run trail with proof it passed.
Existing labs include a budget variance calculator, support-queue aging report, expense workbook summary via ImportExcel, command latency percentiles, and a token budget planner. Every lab exposes a copyable prompt so readers can reproduce the loop with their own AI setup.
