Hanyang's 1,000-unit magnetic microrobot swarm lifts 350x unit weight
TinfoilTricorn · x · 2026-09-17
Researchers at Hanyang University developed magnetic micro swarm robots that operate in groups of up to 1,000 units. Individually simple, the robots collectively achieve capabilities through coordination, including carrying objects up to 350 times the weight of a single unit. The swarm can operate on surfaces, in liquids, and in confined spaces, with potential applications in clearing blocked arteries, drug delivery, and pipeline navigation.
