Nate Silver voices skepticism on RSI, spars with AI class-action plaintiff

Statistician Nate Silver says he is marginally skeptical of recursive self-improvement (RSI) and of AI quickly manipulating the physical world, while conceding that many with more experience are less skeptical and AI has already done things he'd have called highly unlikely 10 years ago.
He was pushed back on by AI class-action plaintiff and former mathematician David Clowery, who calls the LLM-to-superintelligence path mathematically impossible.
