Hugging Face engineer slams Cursor's declining quality after switching to Codex Desktop

Hugging Face engineer Niels Rogge publicly criticizes Cursor's quality decline. He was once a heavy user who considered its UX the best among AI coding tools, but after trying OpenAI's Codex Desktop he largely stopped using Cursor, returning only when his Codex credits run out.
He argues the product seems heavily vibe-coded, listing basic failures:
- Chats don't sync between the IDE and the Agents Window app
- Clicking "Open Workspace" simply doesn't open it
- Odd UI bugs, like giant whitespace between tool calls
He reported these issues a month ago and a Cursor team member reached out promising fixes, but the problems persist. Every time he returns to Cursor, he's surprised how much worse it feels compared to Codex Desktop.
