- Students use it for coding, search, and revision; faculty for admin tasks
- 66% say AI is career-critical, yet only 25% feel MIT prepares them
Eight principles: humility; bold redesign; humanity first; preserve struggle; outcome teaching; discipline-specific rules; augment not automate; think beyond campus.
Concrete measures: replace take-home problem sets with oral exams, portfolios, and in-class work; require an AI-use statement in every syllabus (unrestricted/limited/required/prohibited); appoint an AI Lead per school with AI Fellows and $30 Parley credits; a committee will track outcomes.
