42 Royal Society Fellows Sign Letter Urging AI Risks Be Treated as Emergency

42 fellows and foreign members of the Royal Society, including mathematician Timothy Gowers, have signed a letter to society president Paul Nurse calling for the serious risks of AI to be treated as an emergency. Boaz Barak endorsed the concern, arguing the focus should be on AI's implications for humanity rather than on mathematicians' careers.
