Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published 'We Must Pace the Frontier,' arguing frontier AI is moving too fast — and Elon Musk and Sam Altman unusually agreed. Altman said OpenAI has been discussing frontier AI speed limits for weeks, possibly delaying its IPO.
Why brake now:

- Yet he also urges widening the US lead over China via chip export controls, anti-smuggling, and anti-distillation measures — sparking 'pulling up the ladder' criticism.
