Rune Energy has raised $40M to convert stranded solar power into AI compute without any grid connection.
Its RELIC product, pitched as a "drama-free data center," can be deployed in under 60 minutes and is already live at a 200MW site in Texas. The approach targets renewable energy that would otherwise be curtailed due to grid interconnection bottlenecks, offering an off-grid power path for AI workloads.
