Anthropic merges Cowork into Claude, launches Docs, Slides and Design in chat
机器之心 · wechat · 2026-09-17
Anthropic has merged ClaudeCowork and ClaudeChat into a single unified Claude that can keep working on tasks even after you shut down your computer, rolling out to Pro and Max users over the coming weeks.
Three Beta features — ClaudeDocs, ClaudeSlides and ClaudeDesign — are now available directly in conversations, with collaborative editing, in-chat presentations, and PowerPoint/PDF export. Claude now decides which capability to invoke automatically, inheriting your context, skills and connectors instead of forcing users to pick a tool. Enterprise admins control rollout timing.
Anthropic says the merge addresses feedback that users struggled to route tasks between Cowork and Design. Commenters see it as a direct challenge to Microsoft and a threat to AI slide-deck startups.
