Figment: an open-source agent-first creative lab using the filesystem as memory
jh3yy · x · 2026-09-17
Developer jh3y (partly built for his wife, to make creative work more fun) open-sourced Figment—a clonable, agent-first creative lab for visual projects built on the Krea API. A human and a coding agent shape a brief, research live models, run inexpensive probes, preserve generation provenance, and prototype around the strongest directions.
Core design: the filesystem is the product memory—projects are plain Markdown, JSON, and ordinary media files; Studio is a local visual surface over those files, not a second source of truth. It's an early alpha: image generation is the supported workflow, video outputs are previewable, Studio is local-first with read-only published galleries, and valuable work should be kept in Git.
