Amplitude goes headless for agents: 6.3M MCP calls in August, 5x since March
Scobleizer · x · 2026-09-17
Amplitude launched Headless Amplitude, treating AI agents as first-class users:
- All core functionality exposed via an MCP server, with the interface optimized for minimal token consumption
- A developer CLI to deterministically manage events, experiments, flags, and projects
- Service accounts so bots and scripts can query data independently
The company reports 6.3M MCP tool calls in August alone, 5x the March number, with product data queries now its fastest-growing agent use case. The vision: skip the SaaS dashboard and use Amplitude directly inside Codex, Claude, Cursor, or whatever agent your team already runs.
