Paper2Agent turns any research paper into an AI 'virtual corresponding author', published in Nature

Stanford's Paper2Agent, published in Nature, converts any research paper into a bespoke AI agent that acts as a 'virtual corresponding author'. It packages a paper's manuscript, code, data and supplements into an MCP server with automated testing, letting scientists query claims, apply methods to new datasets, and let agents from different disciplines collaborate autonomously. Co-author James Zou says 'living' papers could reshape how knowledge is consumed and reproduced across fields.
