Vercel's 27.5KB WebGPU lexer model sparks wave: 5 browser-side tiny models in one week

Vercel Labs released gpu-lexer, a tiny 27.5KB model that does syntax highlighting in the browser via WebGPU, language-agnostic by design and built as a learning experiment.
Author shuding notes that within a week, five similar task-specific browser models appeared: gpu-time (natural language to JS date/time), gpu-query (natural language to structured filters), neural-flexbox (a model to center a div, mostly as a joke), gpu-cron (natural language to cron expressions), and tinysarf (Arabic morphological analyzer).
The trend shows how WebGPU enables ultra-small, single-purpose models to run entirely client-side.
