Anthropic is merging Claude Cowork and Claude chat into a single Claude: you can ask a quick question or hand over a report due at noon, and Claude takes over — even continuing after you've closed your laptop. The rollout hits Pro and Max plans first across web, desktop, and mobile over the coming weeks. Simon Willison reads this as Claude becoming a general agent in its own right, though he suspects figuring out what it actually changes across features and surfaces will still take work.
