YC-backed Extend launches Parse Router to route each page to the right parsing engine
ycombinator · x · 2026-09-17
Extend, a YC-backed document parsing company, shipped Parse Router: a classifier scores every page on layout, text quality, tables, form fields and checkboxes, then routes it to either the Light (0.5 credits/page) or Performance (2 credits/page) engine.
- On RealDoc-Bench, routing scored 89% vs 90.9% for always-Performance, at significantly fewer credits
- Recommended default for mixed-complexity documents in mortgage, insurance, healthcare and legal
- Live now via the parseauto engine setting
