Odyssey-3 unveiled: one world model to control robots, drive cars, pilot drones and play games
Dr_Singularity · x · 2026-09-17
Odyssey has released Odyssey-3, a foundation world model it calls an early example of "general-purpose physical intelligence." Built as an autoregressive diffusion transformer, the same model can control robots, power humanoids, drive cars, pilot drones, train AIs, and even play video games.
Founders Oliver Cameron and Jeff Hawke worked on autonomous vehicles and robotics in the 2010s and founded Odyssey in 2023 on the belief that world models offer a path to general physical intelligence: a single causal model of the world could serve as a common foundation across many systems with little task-specific data. Trained on vast visual observations, Odyssey-3 learned physics, dynamics, cause-and-effect, and human behaviors.
