Google opens smart home to third-party AI agents via MCP, including Claude

Google launched Google Home MCP, letting any MCP-supporting third-party AI agent — including Claude, Google Antigravity, Hermes and Open Claw — securely control and monitor all devices and event history in the Google Home ecosystem, per product manager Taylor Lehman. Agents can act on the user's behalf and analyze home data via the standardized Model Context Protocol.
