First Thermodynamically Favored DNA Computer Demonstrated on 100-Bit Addition

A Nature paper by Stérin, Woods et al. demonstrates a Scaffolded DNA Computer (SDC) that embeds computation in a system relaxing to a thermodynamically favored equilibrium, avoiding costly error-correction. Tested on 10 programs including multiply-by-3, 8-bit parity, and 25-bit addition—a 100-bit computation—hinting at ultra-low-energy computing.
