Economist calls for boycott of top journal, blaming AI-fueled publishing rat race

Economist @paulnovosad announced he is pausing submissions to the Quarterly Journal of Economics and called on leading economists to do the same, arguing the academic publishing rat race has gotten out of control and AI is making it worse. A reply quips that the editors have effectively already paused your publication — you just don't know it yet.
