Hassabis and Legg launch DeepMind Institute for interdisciplinary AGI research

DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis announced the launch of the DeepMind Institute (DMI) with Shane Legg, with whom he has discussed AGI's impact on the economy, science, and society for over 20 years. The institute will expand interdisciplinary research on key questions of the AI era, aiming to spur the discussions needed to get the next steps right.
