Community-built Grok Build Desktop runs Grok, Codex and Claude Code without an IDE
PawelHuryn · x · 2026-09-16
Developer Pawel Huryn released Grok Build Desktop (Community), a free unofficial Electron app letting you use Grok, Codex and Claude Code — the original harnesses with your own subscriptions — without a terminal or IDE.
Details:
- Three-pane UI: sessions organized by repo/recent/pinned on the left, chat in the middle, files editable in place on the right
- macOS and Windows supported; Linux build is community-made for VPS machines, with official Linux support and update notifications in progress
- Pairs with an AFK Pilot subscription for phone/browser remote control, or a cloud VM with all three agents preinstalled
- Community-built, not endorsed by xAI; source available
Useful for developers who want one dashboard for multiple coding agents outside the editor.
