$100 Shopify client sent a ChatGPT-written complaint email at the dev who built her store

A developer tells the story of taking a $100 Shopify store build out of goodwill — two weeks of manual design work since "AI sucks for design" — only to receive a harsh, threatening email accusing him of being unprofessional for missing calls. The client later admitted ChatGPT wrote it. Her follow-up apology, complete with typos, sounded distinctly human.

His advice: use AI to edit and clarify emails, but never let it decide how angry you should sound — it doesn't know the relationship or history. Also, the clients who pay the least expect the most.
