Proposal urges an NTSB-style board with subpoena power for AI safety incidents

In a new essay for Yale JREG's Notice & Comment, Asad Ramzanali (@asad09) and JB Branch argue Congress should revive a stronger Cyber Safety Review Board to investigate AI safety and cyber incidents.

Their proposal: subpoena power, real staffing, funding to use AI, and genuine independence. Retweeter Ramez calls it one of the best thought-out AI safety policy proposals he's seen — effectively an NTSB for AI safety and cyber incidents. Gary Marcus also amplified the discussion.
