Huawei Unveils World's First 3D Data Center, Cuts Delivery Time to 3 Months
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-09-16
Huawei unveiled the world's first 3D data center: four vertically stacked layers with cooling at the bottom, Ascend 950 supernodes on floor two, power on floor three, and batteries on the roof. The modular design cuts mechanical/electrical delivery from 6 to 3 months with over 90% prefabrication. Commenters noted the layered layout is also resilient—it shuts down cleanly and compute can be salvaged.
