Casting any task as generative doesn't mean generation is the best paradigm for it

The author pushes back on a common habit in ML: while any task can in principle be reframed as a generative one, that doesn't make generation the optimal paradigm across the board. For many problems, discriminative, retrieval-based, or other approaches may be more effective.
