A researcher asks whether the automotive industry can replicate the open-source wave seen in LLMs and mimic that field's rapid progress, noting several existing players (including Valeo.ai) but arguing there is room for more. In a follow-up reply he shared a "reality check" chart on the current state of autonomous driving deployment, suggesting real-world adoption still lags expectations.
