When the Slack API failed, an agent just switched to computer use — and scrolled faster

Developer @YuchenjUW found Slack's API too slow and rate-limited for agents. When his auth broke while asking Codex/Astra to search a huge Slack channel, the model simply switched to computer use and scrolled the UI — faster than the API. "AI won't wait for APIs, maybe." Reposter @davidfowl notes auth makes everything harder, which is why MCPs exist.
