Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke says, contrary to his expectations, MCPs are now better than CLIs for most integrations: models have gotten much better at tool calling, tools can be deferred, and MCP is now stateless. His practical tip — for composing/filtering data, add params like query to your MCP tools.
