Brundage: Serious Penalties Needed, Not Fines Below One Engineer's Salary

In his policy thread, Brundage calls for massively more investment in biosecurity, cyberdefense and other societal vulnerabilities ahead of imminent powerful AI, plus real penalties for violations. He also urges robust whistleblower protections, noting NDAs discourage sharing of not-yet-illegal-but-dangerous info, and serious investment in alignment and security robust to AI-enabled state attackers.
