Maker Arm ships first batch: open-source 3D-printed 6-axis robot arm from $999

MakerMods' Maker Arm has started shipping its first batch — an open-source robot arm aimed at Physical AI development:
- Specs: 6+1 DoF, 1.5 kg (3 lb) payload, RobStride 02 QDD actuators on shoulder and elbow, RobStride 00 on remaining joints and gripper, CAN bus throughout
- Pricing: $999 DIY kit (flat-packed, you assemble) or $1199 fully assembled and bench-tested; ships October
- Open everything: all structural parts are printable at home; STL files, build guide, video walkthrough, and URDF are published, with an open-source SDK on GitHub and a roadmap that adds LeRobot integration so you can train the arm
