Robotics researcher Chris Paxton reacted to a hardware demo where tweaking the harness and setup got a general model to mostly complete a snack-tray test on attempt 3 (earlier attempts failed on a system-prompt issue and a dropped OJ). His take: "the gpt of robotics will just be gpt" — suggesting general-purpose models may beat purpose-built robot foundation models.
