TypeSafe, a San Francisco startup founded by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida (co-inventor of InstructGPT, ChatGPT, GPT-4), has emerged from stealth with a $40 million Series Seed led by DCVC.
- Thesis: Today's frontier models dazzle on leaderboards but remain unreliable and demand human hand-holding; TypeSafe builds a new class of models optimized for automation with no humans in the loop.
- First model Jev: claims frontier-level intelligence at under 100 ms latency, often 100x faster and cheaper than other frontier models, with hundreds of parallel outputs; available in early access.
