His engagement framework is AOA: Audit, Optimize, Automate. Most people skip straight to Automate and end up automating a broken process. Instead:
- Audit first: client shares their screen and walks the process in detail while he takes notes and interrupts with questions.
- Capture the plumbing, not just steps: who owns each step, which tool it runs in, where data lives, and whether it connects to Claude.
- Hand the audit doc to Claude, then push back — its first synopsis is usually partly wrong, and the client knows best.
- Only then move to optimize/automate, codifying the flow as skills.
A replicable solo-consulting playbook: target SMBs with messy processes, let Claude draft solutions, keep humans on audit and judgment.
