Model upgrades are the best time to delete your agent workarounds
gethackteam · x · 2026-09-16
A practical tip for agent engineering: a model upgrade is a good time to prune. Forced resets, extra planning prompts, or repair loops added for an old model's failure modes may become pure overhead once the new model no longer exhibits those failures. A/B test each workaround on and off after upgrading — otherwise yesterday's fix becomes today's cost.
