Einride and Lidl Germany have deployed the first cab-less SAE Level 4 autonomous truck with no driver or safety operator on board into daily operations on a German public road — one shift a day, five days a week, hauling real store deliveries between a warehouse and a store. It operates under the first permit of its kind from Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), a milestone in one of the world's most stringent regulatory environments for road safety.
