mpershan's AI safety plan: let AI do the math, keep humans on infrastructure
mpershan · x · 2026-09-16
@mpershan half-jokingly proposes an AI safety division of labor: put AI models in charge of solving math problems, keep humans in charge of physical infrastructure — humans can consult AI but double-check its answers, which he argues is cheap since physical construction takes months anyway.
He then seriously asks binarybits how confident he is that robots won't be put in charge of physical infrastructure. binarybits replies he's not very confident and calls it a major policy challenge over the next 10-20 years.
