OpenAI's Noam Brown: models may beat me at research taste within a release or two

OpenAI research scientist Noam Brown said current models are still poor at research taste — judging which problems and directions are worth pursuing — and a noticeable gap remains. But he wouldn't be surprised if, one or two model releases from now, models are better at it than he is.
