Liam Fedus' startup released its first research report on Neon: high-throughput materials labs in Menlo Park create a loop where experiments generate fresh data, models learn from it, and then suggest what to try next. Using only 1,300 H200s and months of proprietary experimental data, they mid-trained and RL'd an open-source model that surpasses GPT-6 Astra on their analysis benchmark, with strengths in superconductors, magnets, and semiconductor materials.
