Liquid Compute exits stealth with $15M seed to build regulated compute derivatives orderbook

ycombinator · x · 2026-09-15

Liquid Compute emerged from stealth with a $15M seed round led by Ronit Jain, filing with the CFTC for DCM and DCO status to build the first regulated orderbook trading cash- and physically-settled contracts on compute. The thesis: compute is heterogeneous and unstorable, more like electricity than oil — an efficient short-term market (à la PJM/ERCOT) underpins a derivatives layer. Partners include Susquehanna International Group, BGC Group, and Wintermute for OTC compute trading serving AI startups.
