DeepSeek engineer slams Anthropic, OpenAI over 'pacing' calls, invokes Hitler
pstAsiatech · x · 2026-09-15
A DeepSeek AI engineer published strikingly harsh rhetoric targeting Anthropic: "I especially don't want Anthropic to master the most advanced AI or AGI," warning that social mobility would become increasingly difficult. He compared Anthropic controlling frontier AI to Hitler and Nazi Germany acquiring nuclear weapons before the Allies.
He cited his belief in inclusive, open-source AI as the reason he stayed at DeepSeek. The remarks are a response to Anthropic and OpenAI's calls for "pacing" AI development, underscoring sharp tensions over how fast AI should advance and who should shape its future.
