'EU-hosted' doesn't tell you who runs the AI: a directory of real European AI providers

A developer launched EUAIAPI (euhostedai.directory), a public directory clarifying that 'EU-hosted', 'European', 'sovereign' and 'GDPR-ready' mean very different things — data location doesn't reveal who operates the inference runtime or which jurisdiction controls the provider. The catalogue classifies providers by documented inference location, runtime operator, contracting entity, and subprocessors, listing only those running at least one firsthand EU/EEA/Swiss customer-facing runtime, with 'Unknown' as a legitimate result. It's in beta and soliciting community input on missing providers and evidence standards.
