Agility Unveils Digit 5 Humanoid Built to Work Alongside People, With $300M in Orders

Agility Robotics has unveiled Digit 5, its next-generation general-purpose humanoid robot, billed as the first engineered for cooperatively safe work at scale.
- Safety architecture: Digit 5 is designed to reduce dependence on the physical barriers used in traditional automation, allowing it to operate in close proximity to people. It builds on Digit becoming the first humanoid to pass an independent OSHA-administered field safety evaluation on a customer production line.
- Commercial traction: Built on over 65,000 hours of operation across three years of Digit 4 deployments, the robot has already drawn more than $300 million in multi-year orders, with a growing pipeline across manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, according to CEO Peggy Johnson.
- Why it matters: Safety has been one of the biggest obstacles to scaling humanoids in commercial settings; Digit 5 aims to remove that barrier so a single robot can take on full facility workflows.
