A Melbourne product designer who DJs as Bashi Bazouk spent 10 months building Ara, a Mac app with 60+ audio- and motion-reactive shaders for his live sets, entirely with Claude Code.

The app supports webcam, Kinect, and iPhone LiDAR depth streaming over Wi-Fi via an iOS extension, plus Syphon, MIDI, and OSC for integration with Resolume. The author, not a graphics programmer, estimates it would have taken him 4+ years alone: he handled UX/UI design and real-gig testing while Claude wrote the Metal shaders (tweaked live to music), the Swift app, audio analysis, the iPhone app, and the licensing/update system. Debugging at gigs meant pasting logs into Claude.

It offers a 7-day free trial with a one-time purchase afterward — a notable vibe-coding case of a non-programmer shipping a sellable product.
