Satire: Self-proclaimed 'superintelligent' pundit vows to 'slow down' with fishing and golf
DavidLinthicum · x · 2026-09-15
A deadpan satirical open letter in which a cloud-computing pundit declares himself superintelligent and announces a "responsible slowdown": deliberately getting lost on Monday bike rides, catching nothing on Wednesday fishing trips ("capability suppression through tackle box neglect"), and shanking golf balls into an "aligned" safety-buffer pond. He'll cut hot takes from 4,000 to 1.5 per week. The piece mocks doomsday-flavored AI pundits and the performative "slowing down vs stopping" rhetoric used to look heroic while promising little.
