Developer Shares Hands-On Use of a Claude Code Persistent Memory Skill
doodlestein · x · 2026-09-15
Developer Jeffrey Emanuel released a Claude Code skill, eidetic-engine-cli, giving agents durable local-first memory via the ee command: ee pack/ee context for pre-task context, ee remember for rules, ee search for prior memory, ee why to explain selection, ee curate to distill procedural rules, ee preflight for command-risk advisories, ee resume to resume sessions, and ee team for shared team memory, wireable into Claude Code / Codex hooks.
A user noted the approach seems overactive, recalling before editing every file, and asked about long-term experience, effects on agent behavior, and memory rot. The author replied he uses it heavily in consulting work but on an as-needed basis rather than for every project or file, and shared a skill for using it optimally.
