NIH announced BioDATA ASCENT, a two-day code-a-thon on Nov 3-4 at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for PhD students and postdocs, with registration closing Oct 1.
Backed by the Common Fund Data Ecosystem and NHGRI AnVIL, teams will pair with mentors to use cloud computing, AI, and large biomedical datasets (GTEx, HuBMAP, Kids First, 1000 Genomes, and more) to turn a scientific question into a working prototype, analysis, or reusable workflow within a day. No fully formed project is required to join.
