NVIDIA's ASPIRE Research Group Is Recruiting PhD Interns in Physical AI and Autonomy

The ASPIRE (Autonomous Systems and Physical AI Research) group at NVIDIA Research, led by Dr. Marco Pavone, is now accepting applications for 2027 PhD research internships on a rolling basis.
Key research areas include:
- Foundation models for embodied autonomy: vision-language-action models, world-action models, embodied and counterfactual reasoning, navigation and long-horizon planning across embodiments
- Agentic Physical AI development workflows: automating hypothesis generation, data curation, training, closed-loop evaluation, and deployment
- Reasoning models, generative simulation, and Physical AI safety
Applications center on autonomous vehicles while expanding to trucks, off-road vehicles, drones, quadrupeds, and humanoids.
