Palantir, Nvidia restrict Claude Fable over Anthropic's mandatory data retention policy

AI寒武纪 · wechat · 2026-09-15

Alongside the Claude Fable launch, Anthropic rolled out a mandatory data retention policy: prompts and outputs from all Fable and Mythos models are kept at least 30 days for cross-session, cross-account safety review, covering its own platform plus AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry—and overriding previously negotiated zero-retention enterprise deals.

Enterprises grew uneasy after Anthropic's threat intelligence report revealed monitoring capabilities, including an alignment evaluation scanning 481 million interactions. Palantir demanded an irrevocable zero-retention commitment and paused Fable access; Nvidia switched sensitive supply-chain monitoring to its own Nemotron; Booz Allen Hamilton banned commercial Fable in client-delivered security software. Reports also cite internal Microsoft restrictions and a US utility canceling an Fable pilot. The author argues enterprise data is effectively exposed.
